Summer has finally arrived

The weather has been cold this year, really cold, causing the local snow pack to hang on longer then usual. that is finally starting to change. temps forecasted for the 70s and 80s are coming up finally. bring on the summer fishing.

Fremont River

the Fremont River above Millmeadow, flows are up and the hatches have started, a trip up there this evening revealed good numbers of caddis cruising around I’m sure the stone flies and drakes are not far behind. I caught fish in every spot that looked fishy to me.

Fremont below the highway has low clear flows finally, however the warm weather has brought early thunder storms that could temporarily muddy the river, the hatches have started down there also and its worth wetting a line.

Boulder Mountain

access is opening up daily, the top is still closed and will be till mid June. most lakes below the rim are now accessible and reports of low winter kill and healthy fish are pouring into the shop daily, swing by with the side you are planing on going up and we will tell you what we know. this should be a great year for the mountain.

Thousand Lake

was just stocked with 4 inch rainbows today, this always slows things down on that mountain for us, however I’m not sure it could get much slower then its already been, Solomon basin has been painfully slow compared to most years, we are seeing fish but they aren’t very grabby at all.

UM and Seven mile

can sum these two streams up together, both are very high with run off not much for hatches yet.

East fork of the Sevier

flows are down in Kingston canyon right now, hatches are going, caddis, B.W.O and stoneflies. it been good really good.flows could increase anytime due to water needs check the release flows check flows
